Catch the claim before MLR does.

Promotional claims are reviewed after they are drafted, so one unsupported sentence can cost several review rounds. FDA’s Office of Prescription Drug Promotion issued five untitled letters in all of 2024, then dozens in a single week of September 2025. In 2023 the FTC put about 670 health-product marketers on notice that unsubstantiated claims carry civil penalties. Mutaris moves the check to the first draft.

What it does for your team

  • Flags unsupported claims in Word, LinkedIn and X drafts, and in the browser, as they are written.
  • Names the rule and cites its text, with a link to the source.
  • Suggests compliant wording for a reviewer to accept or reject.
  • Records each flag, and whether the writer corrected it or published anyway, in an append-only audit trail.
  • Audits what is already live on your sites, page by page, with a screenshot of where each claim appears.

Rules covered for pharma and life sciences

Each organization chooses which sources it checks against. Turning a source on adds its rules to what ClaimGuard can report and to what Site Audit retrieves. The FTC Act is always on.

21 CFR 202.1
Prescription drug advertising: the brief summary, fair balance between benefit and risk, and the presentations that make an advertisement false or misleading.
FD&C Act 502(n)
Misbranding by advertising: the established name and the required risk information every prescription drug advertisement must carry.
FDA OPDP guidance
Presenting risk information with comparable prominence, quantitative efficacy and risk, and consistency with FDA-required labeling.
21 CFR 1271
Human cells, tissues, and cellular and tissue-based products (HCT/Ps).
FTC Act § 5
Unfair or deceptive acts, including claims made without a reasonable basis.

Where it sits in review

Mutaris does not approve claims and does not replace medical, legal or regulatory review. It puts the rule in front of the writer at the moment of writing, so the draft that reaches review carries fewer avoidable findings. See how it works with your MLR process.
